Every time I get a chance to do a shoot that isn't my usual "park or beach" shoot, I get super excited. My husband wonders all the time why I always seem to shoot at the SAME locations. Well, I always let my clients choose their locations....so although I can suggest different locations.....ultimately it's up to the client. Seeing as though 98% of my shoots involve children (and usually under the age of 5), it is usually safer to go the routine route of the park or beach...so I totally understand. Anyway....hopefully this might give an extra nudge to other families that want to step outside of the park/beach box and try something different ;)
We see this wonderful family AT LEAST once or twice a week. They are our great friends whom we love and adore..... Mike, Kristen and their 3 girls Madalynn, Lillian and Kamryn. Kristen and I have been planning this shoot for quite some time. She knows I have a crazy schedule, so she booked a date months ago, talked about outfits, hair, locations, etc.....and when I showed up at their house on Wednesday I was SO excited. They all looked AWESOME and I knew it was going to be a blast. Even cooler is that they own 2 perfect cars that we used for the shoot. A 42 Mercury and a 72 Chevy truck. Location wise we shot in part of their ginormous backyard and then just went around the corner...literally!.....and it was perfect! Ok, I could ramble all day about how awesome they are, etc....but let's get to the pics!
So we explained to the kids that back in the day, you didn't smile for pics. Oh man, it was a crack up trying to get these girls NOT to smile :) After much giggling, we finally got a shot.....but the funniest part is that Kamryn (the youngest) by that point WAS mad....and had no idea that she was totally Captain Underpants up there showing her panties. Had she known she would have been even more pissed that grandma and I were cracking up ;)

I couldn't decide which version I liked better......so i'm posting both......
I was sure that Mike & Kristen didn't have any photos of just them since their wedding, so I made sure to get some cute couple shots. Mike had carved their initials in their tree years ago, so we relived that moment. It's a little hard to see, but it says "MH *heart* KH").....
........and just because I have a love for foot/leg shots........

Mike & Kristen - Thanks for being up for anything....including me making you get into the back of the truck.....with your kids right there! ;) Yes, Auntie Julie is a GREAT role model ;)
Blog readers - For what it's worth...the girls were playing with grandma when I took the shot above. BUT they came over after and started giggling and saying "oh my gosh" (which was the shot in the previous post) ;)
