Normally when you ask an almost 3 year old what kind of birthday party they want, you hear the usual "Dora", "Princess", "Cars", etc. Not my kid. Instead she told me she wanted a "Small World" party (because it's her favorite ride at Disneyland). I had mixed feelings about it. My initial reaction was "Awesome....at least she wants something original! That's my girl!!". Then reality hit and I thought "Ok, how the hell am I going to pull this one off?". Sure I pondered with the idea of convincing her to go with something way easier like a Disney Princess party.....but I decided to give the Small World party a shot and go with it. After all, I love doing things out of the ordinary. Despite a few snags, the party was a success and miss PJ had a blast with all of her friends. I decided NOT to be photographer for the day, so I counted on everyone else to take care of majority of the pics.

We also had face painting (done by my talented sister Katie as usual), temporary tattoos (in case you couldn't tell by PJ's arms - ha!), cupcake decorating, stained glass arts and crafts, a pinata, etc. Oh and if you're wondering where that FABULOUS cake was from, my brother from another mother made it ;) His name is Jeff and i've known him since high school and he's been making the cakes for all of the kids in our family since 96 or so. Happy 3rd birthday PJ! We love you SO much (even if you are a turd sometimes and don't listen for crap lately ;) hehe) and are so proud to be your mommy and daddy :)

WOW! One of my photos is on the cover of * Tot Trends Weekly * this week! I've always loved the photos on their covers, and admire and look up to so many of the photographer's featured on their site. I never in a million years thought that MY work would be gracing one of their covers!
