When I first met Kylie and Hannah (in December), I gave them the nicknames "Dash" and "Smiley". 9 months later, Kylie (almost 4) is still as fast as Dash (from The Incredibles) and not only is Hannah (almost 2) smiley, but Kylie smiled the entire time as well. These 2 are some of the happiest kids i've ever met. From the second they walked up, to the second we said our goodbyes...they were both smiling :)  Once again though, the weather gods must have known I had a beach shoot because OF COURSE it was totally gloomy, foggy and overcast (seriously, what the heck!?). It's always my luck (err lack there of) that those amazing sunsets I see are never on days where *I'M* at the beach doing a session LOL. It's ok, we laughed about it, got soaking wet and had fun anyway :) 

I'm not usually a "centered shot" kinda person, but something kept pulling me back to this image....

....a smooth criminal.........

Criminal of what, you ask? 

Well there are MANY things, but here are the first 10 I can think of right now.........

1. Stealing my heart.

2. Sneaking into my bed many nights.

3. Stealing kisses.

4. Getting away with murder (well...you know what I mean ;) hehe).

5. Leaving marbles and other annoying objects on our bedroom floor for us to step on.

6. Bossing the dogs around. 

7. Being naughty and sassy.

8. Changing her clothes numerous times a day, just because.

9. Being remarkably conniving and convincing me to get her boba for doing this mini shoot.

10. Rocking the hell out of this spur of the moment shoot on a 90+ degree heat day at mid-day brightness (1pm)....and being 4 years old, mind you ;) 

P.S - Those were just the first 2 pics that caught my eye, but I have lots of others that hopefully I can share another day :) 

It was extremely hot, extremely bright and poor Brady wanted nothing to do with pictures. It's ok though.....I still managed ;) 

A few silly shots of PJ from yesterday. No, these weren't planned....otherwise she would have been wearing something other than a terrible Snow White nightgown and her hair wild hair (which was taken out of pigtails from school) would have been combed ;)

If you ask her to do a "model pose", this is what happens LOL. Yeah....she could cut glass with those mean eyes =P

My kid is crazy and hilarious.

I'm sure i've said it before, but i'll say it again..... 

I LOVE urban shoots. In all honesty, if I could choose just ONE "type" (ie: park, beach, urban, etc) of location to shoot at......it would be urban. Parks, beaches, fields, etc can be beautiful (don't get me wrong, I love all kinds of locations), but the thing I love about urban shoots is the variety of colors, textures, originality and feel.   Every time a client tells me that they've chosen to do an urban shoot, I let out a little "YESSS!!!" (be sure to do that in your best Napoleon Dynamite voice).   

With this family, the morning of the shoot came and I pulled up to meet them....and saw the cutest mom ever, in a super stylish dress and thought "YESSS!!!" (again in my ND voice).  As psycho as it sounds, the first words out of my mouth to her were "HOW CUTE ARE YOU!?" lol.  Oh and it didn't stop there. Out from the car comes dad (who is also dressed super awesome), their son Gavin (who is ridiculously handsome, dressed to kill and SO well behaved) and then baby Mila (who is adorably chubby, gorgeous perfection.....not to mention that Mila was almost PJ's name...so I knew i'd love her immediately anyway hehe).   I could go on and on about how awesome and sweet this family was, but let's get to the pics!  Mom loves the wheel/rim wall, so we started there and luckily got some photos in before the uber bright sun decided to join us ;) 

If you look SUPER close (like squint your eyes really, really hard), you'll see Gavin and Mila's brother or sister (it's a surprise!) in one of these pics ;)  It should seriously be illegal for anyone to look that good after having 2 kids!....let alone after 2 and with a 3rd on the way!! :)
