My mom landed back in Taiwan yesterday, but here are a few fun photos from when she was at our house. 

This first set was not planned at all. We had just gotten home and I went to my computer to start answering emails while PJ and my mom played in PJ's room. It started out with a tea party, but as I was typing, I heard my mom reading PJ some books. Keep in mind that my mom has a very heavy chinese accent....so yeah...it was pretty funny hearing her reading lines like "More spaghetti I say!".....which sounded more like "Mo spaageyiii I say". Anyway, I thought it was really cute that my mom was reading to PJ in english, so I grabbed my camera to sneak in some shots. By the time I had grabbed it they had moved onto a new book, "Dim Sum For Everyone"....which seemed to be a better fit for my mom......

The next photo is one that still cracks me up. I guess you had to be there, but at this precise moment, my mom was cracking up because she had just been corrected by PJ for saying "ehgpraa". What's so funny about that? Well my mom was trying to say "eggplant" and when she said "ehgpraa" PJ said "That's not an AIRPLANE! It's an EGGPLANT Ama!".  My mom told that story at least 5 times before she left for Taiwan. 

These next photos I want to kick myself for. When I got home I realized they were all pretty grainy. Yeah....me being in too much of a hurry, I forgot to bump down the ISO (whoops!) from the previous night. Oh well.....grain is the new style, right? ;)   Good thing it was with my own family and not a client ;) 

This set below was not staged. As I was taking photos of my mom, PJ ran up to her with a flower.....

 .....and yes, 12 year old nephew is taller than her (and pretty much me now! - and i'm 5'6"! His dad IS 6'4" though.....so yeah....it's safe to say he's gonna be pretty tall)....and keep in mind he JUST turned 12 a few weeks ago.

This isn't my usual true sneak peek....so i'll call it "the tease" ;)   They were all dying to see, so I promised I would post at least one tonight.....and because I love them...i'll post TWO :)

As of last week....I am officially BOOKED FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE YEAR and have already started booking for 2010 (which is even more crazy.....I mean weddings usually book that far in advance...but kid/family pics? Wow!)!  In these hard economic times, i'm thrilled to be able to say this....but also heartbroken to have to turn people away for the remainder of the year :(    When I first started Lot116 I was brainstorming of ways to keep business coming. Well business kept coming, and coming, and coming.....even without any of my brainstorming. 2 years later, I still have yet to advertise anywhere and have managed to book for all of 2009 (with 8 or more client shoots per month....as well as "extra" shoots for family, businesses I work with, etc) by MAY. It's craziness! Thank you all who have helped my business grow :) I truly appreciate it and am flattered beyond belief!  

My mom has been here visiting from Taiwan for the past few weeks. She's been at my sister's house pretty much the whole time....and I thought I was going to have her all next week.....but it turns out she's leaving in a few days, so i've been trying to spend as much time as possible with her before she leaves.  Yesterday morning I took her and PJ to a spot that I snapped photos of PJ at once before. There is a lot more greenery now, so i've been dying to go back....but with clients who have little ones,  it's hard to convince them to go somewhere like this. So yeah....in times like this, I drag my family there and make them do it ;) 

Anyway, things are crazy right now between trying to finish up editing, responding to emails, trying to spend time with my mom before she leaves, PJ's school, PJ's swim, going to LA, etc.......so hopefully by mid-late next week, things will be a little more calm (hmm....but of course then more shoots start up....hahaha).
